We do not discriminate based on industry, employer type, or income level. If you work and you want a financial safety net, you qualify.

What counts as a qualifying illness or injury?

A qualifying event is any documented illness or injury that prevents you from performing your regular work duties. Can I cancel my membership at any time?

Is Self Care Center an insurance company?

No. Self Care Center is a community-driven membership organization, not a licensed insurance company. We operate on a community-funded model where member dues are pooled to provide financial assistance to members who experience qualifying illness or injury. This model allows us to provide meaningful support at an accessible price point without the overhead and regulatory complexity of traditional insurance products.

How does the community fund work?

Every member’s monthly dues are contributed to a shared community benefit fund. When a member experiences a qualifying illness or injury, benefits are paid from this pooled fund. We operate with full transparency — members can always inquire about how funds are managed and disbursed. Our model is built on the principle that communities are stronger when they support each other, and that workers deserve affordable access to a real financial safety net.

What is the difference between the Basic and Premium plans?

The Basic Plan ($50/month) provides income replacement of $3,000 per month for up to 2 months.

The Premium Plan ($99/month) increases income replacement of $5,000 per month.

Help With Medical out of Pocket expenses of $1,000 to $10,000 which health insurance does not cover. This Support is after a year of loyaulty to Self Care Center for Prime members only.
